Our first trip up to Algonquin in 2023! Why now? Because Spring is one of the best times of the year to see wildlife there and finally spot that moose.
Algonquin Park is a superlative among Ontario's parks. The size of a small country, you could explore its wilderness for years and still barely know it. For this trip, we'll be driving along the famous Highway 60 corridor which provides some of the best opportunities to see moose and tackling one of the most scenic hikes in the park - Centennial Ridges.
This is a 10km trail that's up and down the whole way, culminating in an incredible view from the top of the eponymous Centennial Ridges.
When it comes to wildlife, there's never any guarantees but bears, wolves, moose, beavers and loons are all common in the park so we'll be keeping our eyes open and fingers crossed.
Ice spikes will be provided to all members with snowshoe rental available if conditions call for it.

N.B. Self-drivers. You'll need to reserve and purchase a $21 daily vehicle permit to enter the park. It'll probably work out cheaper/easier to come in the van and you'll be very welcome!
Also of note - this adventure is on a SUNDAY, not our usual Saturday.
