This hike is a genuine adventure, taking us to a spot where trails appear out of nowhere then disappear again as soon as you find them. We're exploring wilderness that feels untouched and is known to just a few. While only 9km, this is a harder hike that will see us bushwhacking through dense forest, hopping over myriad streams and potentially trudging through thick snow. The reward is incredible however - we end up tracing a raging river along an impossibly pretty shoreline and pass some ferocious rapids.

08:30 - Transport leaves from close to Keele Station
10:30-15:00 - Hike in secret location
15:00-16:00 - Bonus, surprise adventure
18:00 - Expected return to Keele Station
Trip difficulty
This is a moderately difficult hike, depending on conditions on the day. You'll need a decent level of fitness and willingness to get off trail but it's very doable and gets considerably easier after the first half.
